About the Role
We are looking for a dependable and experienced HGV Driver to join our logistics team. You will be responsible for transporting groundcare machinery and a variety of loads safely, efficiently, and professionally across multiple locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, excellent timekeeping, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Experience with flatbed lorries is preferred but not essential. You will operate a range of vehicles including rigid trucks with trailers, 4x4 vehicles with trailers, and small vans.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed lorries and other company vehicles to deliver machinery and goods.
- Carry out thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
- Load and unload equipment, ensuring all items are correctly secured for transport.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and associated paperwork.
- Follow all road traffic regulations and company policies.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, colleagues, and customers regarding delivery timings and any issues encountered.
- Keep vehicles clean, presentable, and well‑maintained.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or similar commercial driving role.
- Understanding of commercial driving regulations and safe loading practices.
- Confident operating flatbed lorries and handling varied cargo.
- Strong navigation skills and familiarity with local routes.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- General background in operating groundcare machinery is desirable.
- Valid and up-to-date fork lift truck license is preferred.
- Valid and up‑to‑date CPC qualification is essential.
Location: Balmers GM, Burnley
Type: Full time
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7.30am - 5pm (weekend work as required)
Salary: Rate of pay dependent on experience
