The story
10 years ago, on August 5th, NASA's Curiosity Rover first landed on Mars, marking it's birthday. One year later, Curiosity celebrated it's first birthday by doing something no one should ever have to do - sing Happy Birthday. To itself
Since that day, it's birthday has been completely silent. Until now.
In Husqvarna's most recent update they're giving every Automower® robotic lawn mower, of the models 405X, 415X or 435X AWD, a voice to sing Happy 10th Birthday to our fellow robot on Mars.
How it works
- Users with 405X, 415X or 435X AWD will be notified about the update through the Husqvarna Automower® Connect app.
- Note - your Automower® must have the latest firmware installed in order to join in on the celebration.
- Accept the firmware update, connect to the Smart Connection in the Smart Home section of Automower® Connect app, and your Automower® will sing at 12pm, 3pm and 6pm (local time) on August 5th.
- Feel free to share the video of your mower singing and tag it with #HappyBirthdayCuriosityRover and #Automower
Following Mars Curiosity Rover's birthday, Husqvarna will make the Happy Birthday song available to owners of the three Automower® models permanently. This will be available early September, adding joy to future family birthday celebrations.

How did you make it possible for a robotic lawn mower sing?
Automower® has a small buzzer for alarms and sound notifications. Husqvarna engineers adapted this for a series of sine waves (musical tones).
