The Hire Process

Hire shouldn't have to be a hassle, so from the very start of your hire booking process we've made it as simple and straight forward as possible - here's what you need to know....

Terms & Conditions of Hire

 

Identification Checks

  • Your full name
  • Contact details (telephone, address, email etc..)
  • Site address
  • 1 x photo identification (e.g. driving license or passport)
  • 2 x proof of address (e.g. recent bank statements, utility bills)

A photo-card driving license can be used as one of the two proofs of address as well as the photo identification.


Hire Charge & Damage Deposit

The hire charge must be paid in full prior to commencement of the hire contract.

For short term hire we will require a damage deposit to be paid in full prior to the commencement of the hire contract. Normal wear and tear to machinery is acceptable and your damage deposit will be refunded at the end of the hire contract, assuming no significant damage to the machine has occurred.

 

Insurance

It is the Hirer's responsibility to insure against damage, loss and theft. Balmers GM can provide HireGuard insurance cover at a cost of 15% of the base hire cost.

 

Delivery & Collection

Delivery and collection to your site can be arranged at an additional cost.

 

Training & Demonstration

Our staff are fully trained to the BAGMA installation scheme and are very experienced in the use of all our ground-care hire machinery. We will happily demonstrate the operation of the equipment and stay with you until you are satisfied that you will be able to use it safely and efficiently.

 

Cleaning, Maintenance & Daily Checks

Machinery will be hired in a clean and tidy condition. A cleaning charge will apply if the equipment is returned in an unacceptable condition.

All oil and water levels (where applicable) must be checked on a daily basis. For grass cutting machines the grass screen to the radiator must be cleaned on an hourly basis.

 

Discounts & Early Termination of Hire Contract

No discount is given for unused time during the hire contract due to foul weather, poor ground conditions or public holidays.

Early termination of the agreed hire contract will result in the customer being invoiced for 50% of the remaining hire period.

 

Additional Charges

  • Damage due to misuse or abuse.
  • Additional tines, blades or brushes if required on applicable machines.
  • Cleaning charge if the machine is returned in an unacceptable condition.
  • Where applicable, machinery must be returned with a full tank of fuel, failure to do so will result in a fuel surcharge.
