Minor Service

Annually or every 200 hours (whichever is first)

Drain and replace engine oil
Replace engine oil filter
Replace fuel pre-filter
Replace air filters
Replace spark plugs (petrol engine)
Check hydraulic oil level and condition
Check anvils for signs of wear
Check the tension of all drive belts and adjust as necessary
Check the track drive unit oil (tracked machines)
Remove all old grease from the rotor bearings and re-grease
Grease the discharge tube mounting flanges
Check all nuts, bolts and fasteners for security. Re-tighten to the correct torque settings as necessary
Check fuel pipes and clamps for signs of damage
Check hydraulic pipes and clamps for signs of damage
Check for loose or damaged electrical wiring and re-secure as necessary
Sharpen / Grind / Turn blades
Towed chipper - basic inspection of trailer systems: lights, wheel bearing play & operation of brakes (drums not removed)
Tracked chipper - basic inspection of track unit and tension of tracks
